Xaviersobased

Xavier Lopez, who records as Xaviersobased (always lowercase), was born on October 23, 2003, and grew up on Manhattan's Upper West Side. He started posting tracks online in 2016, when he was barely a teenager, and spent years building a following in the underground before a wider audience caught on. Along with his collective 1c34, Lopez gets credit for shaping jerk, a fast, choppy style that pulls from Chicago footwork and the chaotic energy of early internet rap. The sound he helped build now echoes through a whole generation of artists who grew up on SoundCloud and Discord.[edit]
