Woonhak

Kim Woonhak, known professionally as Woonhak, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and lyricist. He is the youngest member of the six-piece boy group BOYNEXTDOOR under KOZ Entertainment, which debuted on May 30, 2023, with the single album WHO!. Woonhak brings sharp dance skills, a teddy-bear-like warmth, and youthful energy to the group. As of 2026, he has contributed writing credits to the group's album HOME, and he is recognized as the first male K-pop idol born in 2006 to debut. [edit]

Woonhak was born and raised in Iui-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. He grew up with his parents and a younger sister, whom he considers his favorite person. From a young age, he loved music and dreamed of becoming a singer. He described himself as a model student who respected his teachers but admitted to getting bad grades. His hobbies included playing basketball, working out, producing music, and following fashion. He admired basketball legend Michael Jordan. While taking lessons at an academy, KOZ Entertainment came to scout, but Woonhak had slept in and missed the auditions. KOZ contacted him afterward and invited him to audition at the company. He became a trainee in 2020. [edit]

Woonhak's membership in BOYNEXTDOOR was announced on May 5, 2023, and he debuted as the group's maknae on May 30, 2023, with the single album WHO!. The group made their Japanese debut on July 10, 2024. In June 2026, BOYNEXTDOOR released their most personal album, HOME, which Woonhak helped write. He expressed strong confidence in the track VIRAL, saying he would bet his copyright on its success. The group was featured by HYPEBEAST discussing the album, with Woonhak quoted. He has not released solo music outside of BOYNEXTDOOR as of 2026, but his songwriting credits mark his individual creative growth. [edit]

Woonhak is perceived as the bright, energetic maknae of BOYNEXTDOOR, with a teddy-bear-like warmth and affectionate personality. Fellow member Jaehyun has compared him to a teddy bear. He is known for his sharp dance skills and youthful energy. His representative emojis are a teddy bear and a snowman. The group's official fandom name is ONEDOOR, and there is no separate individual fandom. On group content, his social media voice is playful and enthusiastic. [edit]

Woonhak commands a focused global attention rooted in the viral momentum of BOYNEXTDOOR's Gen Z appeal rather than solo celebrity status. iFANN has evaluated his current standing, yet he does not hold a placement in the published Global Top 1,000 or any scope-specific ranking list as of August 2026. The collective audience identifies as ONE DOOR, a unified fanbase that supports all members equally without a separate official sub-fandom designation for Woonhak himself. While followers often use the nickname "Woonbear" derived from his Instagram handle @my_woonbear, this remains an affectionate moniker rather than a formal organizational name. The group's fandom actively drives digital engagement through fan edits and streaming campaigns, notably rallying behind the title track "VIRAL" after Woonhak publicly bet his copyright on its success in June 2026. This specific moment of confidence became a defining interaction between the maknae and his supporters, reinforcing a narrative of shared growth and youthful ambition. The community also participates in broader group initiatives like charity projects and album promotion strategies that prioritize chart performance during releases such as *The Action* and *19.99*. Although individual spotlight moments exist, the primary engine of his fame remains the cohesive brotherhood dynamic that defines BOYNEXTDOOR's public image.[edit]

Woonhak's favorite time of day is 11:29, a number that echoes his birthday on November 29. He speaks both Korean and English fluently and draws clothing inspiration from Pharrell Williams and Tyler, the Creator. Having trained at Def Dance Skool, he brings sharp choreography to the stage while calling himself the "doggy" of BOYNEXTDOOR. A quirky habit sees him listening to fellow member Taesan's music in the shower, and he possesses an instinctive ability to gravitate toward anyone who smiles at him. Beyond these facts, a legendary moment emerged in June 2026 when Woonhak confidently predicted the massive success of "VIRAL," even betting his copyright on the outcome. This bold declaration resonated deeply with fans, transforming a promotional interview into a viral talking point about the group's self-assurance. Another recurring story involves the group's deep connection to fan culture; in September 2024, Woonhak openly discussed watching their own fan edits and sharing favorite karaoke songs, breaking the fourth wall to validate the creative efforts of ONE DOOR. These interactions cement his reputation as the lovable maknae who bridges the gap between idol and audience through genuine, relatable enthusiasm.[edit]

Woonhak has a younger sister whom he calls his favorite person in the world. He misses her deeply now that they cannot see each other often due to his idol schedule. He grew up with his parents in Suwon. As of 2026, he lives with the other BOYNEXTDOOR members in shared dormitory accommodations provided by KOZ Entertainment. No pets have been publicly mentioned. [edit]

Woonhak is a member of BOYNEXTDOOR alongside Jaehyun, Sungho, Taesan, Riwoo, and Leehan. He forms the unit Woonmyungz with Jaehyun. Leehan is noted for taking care of him. His CEO is Zico, founder of KOZ Entertainment. [edit]

As of 2026, Woonhak has no publicly confirmed romantic relationships. No dating rumors have been reported by credible sources. He is currently single and focused on his career with BOYNEXTDOOR. [edit]

As a relatively new K-pop idol who debuted in 2023, individual net worth figures for Woonhak are not publicly disclosed by major sources. His income derives from group activities: album sales, concert tours, merchandise, and digital streaming revenue, as well as a standard trainee-debt repayment and profit-sharing structure typical for rookie K-pop groups under HYBE's subsidiary labels. He may also earn songwriting royalties from co-writing credits on BOYNEXTDOOR albums, particularly HOME. Per iFANN's editorial analysis, his estimated net worth is approximately $200,000 as of 2026, based on typical earnings for a rookie idol in a mid-tier group after three years.[edit]
