Szczęsny is one of the most decorated Polish goalkeepers of his generation. He is the only Polish goalkeeper to have won league titles in three of Europe's top five leagues: the Premier League (with Arsenal, though as a squad member), Serie A with Juventus, and La Liga with Barcelona. His 253 clean sheets in 650 career appearances underscore his consistency. The 2019 Yashin Trophy nomination placed him among the world's elite goalkeepers. Winning the Polish Footballer of the Year award in 2022 capped his individual recognition.

He shared the Premier League Golden Glove in 2013-14, was named Serie A Best Goalkeeper in 2019-20, and won Polish Footballer of the Year in 2022.
