    About

Winner stands as one of the most respected acts in the K-pop industry today, defined by their vocal prowess and dedication to crafting their own music. The four remaining members, Kang Seung-yoon, Lee Seung-hoon, Mino, and Kim Jin-woo, continue to release albums and perform globally, maintaining a distinct identity that separates them from many of their peers. Their sound blends smooth R&B vocals with sharp hip-hop rhythms, creating a signature style that resonates deeply with fans worldwide.

Since their debut in August 2014, the group has achieved multiple number-one singles on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Their ability to produce hits like "Really Really" and "Millions" showcases their growth as artists who prioritize musical integrity over fleeting trends. Fans appreciate their genuine connection during live performances and social media interactions, which have helped build a dedicated community known as WENN.

    Formation Story

The journey of Winner began in May 2013 when YG Entertainment launched the reality competition series WIN: Who Is Next. Five trainees, Kang Seung-yoon, Lee Seung-hoon, Mino, Kim Jin-woo, and Nam Tae-hyun, were paired together as Team B to compete against Team A (later known as iKON). The show aired weekly, featuring intense training sessions, performance challenges, and elimination rounds designed to test their skills and teamwork.

On June 13, 2013, Team B was declared the winner of the competition, earning the right to debut under the name Winner. This victory marked the culmination of years of rigorous preparation for the five members. Following their win, they spent several months refining their concepts and recording tracks for their debut album. On August 17, 2014, they officially debuted with the mini-album 2014 S/S, releasing the lead single "Empty." The song quickly climbed the charts, establishing the group as a fresh and promising force in the industry.

In November 2016, the group faced a significant change when Nam Tae-hyun decided to leave to pursue an acting career. Despite this departure, the remaining four members continued to support each other and released new music, proving their resilience and commitment to the group's future.
