On July 5, 2025, Drake released "What Did I Miss?" as the lead single from his upcoming album Iceman, via OVO Sound and Republic Records. The track arrived after his collaborative project Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PartyNextDoor earlier that year. Produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz with co-production from Jahaan Sweet, the song blends melodic rap with a trap-influenced beat, featuring subtle piano melodies. Critics highlighted its balance of vulnerability and bravado; Pitchfork called it "a masterclass" and Rolling Stone deemed it "a triumphant return to form." On Metacritic, it holds an 88 based on 12 reviews.

The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Drake's 13th chart-topper, and also topped the Billboard Global 200. In its first week, it garnered 42.3 million streams in the U.S. The music video, directed by Theo Skudra and released July 11, 2025, has over 85 million views on YouTube. It features Drake in a dimly lit warehouse interspersed with archival footage and animated sequences. The track also appeared in NBA 2K26 and promotional material for the 2025 NBA Finals.

"What Did I Miss?" became a viral meme on TikTok and Instagram, with users lip-syncing the chorus. Notable covers include a stripped-down version by H.E.R., a jazz rendition by Robert Glasper, and a live cover by The Roots on The Tonight Show. The song won Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards and Best Hip Hop Video at the 2025 BET Hip Hop Awards.
