West Indies Cricket Board

Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket across the West Indies, a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and territories that once formed the British West Indies. Originally established in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, it was renamed the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the board voted to rebrand as Cricket West Indies, a move tied to a restructuring that created a separate commercial entity. The official name change took effect in May 2017.

As a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1926, CWI oversees the West Indies men's and women's national teams, organizing Test tours and one-day internationals. Domestically, it runs the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50 one-day tournament. The board also partnered with Sir Allen Stanford for the Stanford 20/20 competition, later launching its own Caribbean Twenty20 league in 2010. In 2013, CWI founded the Caribbean Premier League, a professional Twenty20 league that has become a major event.

CWI's membership includes six territorial cricket associations, each sending two directors, plus several non-member directors. Two of these associations are themselves multinational boards representing multiple countries. Dr. Kishore Shallow became president in 2023, succeeding Ricky Skerrit, with Chris Dehring as CEO. Since 2005, the West Indies Women's Cricket Federation has been integrated into CWI, with Carol Whilby-Maxwell as president and Michael Seepersaud as secretary.
