Víctor "Valde" Valdepeñas Talavera is a Spanish professional footballer born on October 20, 2006. He currently plays as a centre-back or left-back for the Italian Serie A club Fiorentina. Standing at 6 ft 2 in, he brings a rare combination of height and composure to the defensive line.

His rapid rise through the ranks has made him one of the most watched young defenders in Europe. After spending six years developing within the Real Madrid academy system, he earned his senior debut in late 2025 before completing a significant transfer to Italy in July 2026. [edit]

Víctor was born into the heart of Madrid on October 20, 2006. His path to professional football began early when he joined the Real Madrid youth academy, entering the famed La Fábrica infrastructure at a young age. The academy is known for its rigorous balance between academic studies and elite sports training, a model that shaped his development throughout his teenage years.

From 2020 to 2024, he progressed steadily through the Infantil, Cadete, and Juvenil categories. Coaches quickly identified his tactical maturity and natural ability with his left foot. By 2024, he had moved up to play for Real Madrid Castilla, the reserve team competing in the Segunda División RFEF. During this period, he became a regular starter, gaining crucial experience against physical opposition while learning to control the game from the back.

The summer of 2025 marked a turning point as he trained consistently with the first team squad under manager Xabi Alonso. His performances in pre-season matches convinced the coaching staff that he was ready for competitive action. This intense preparation laid the groundwork for his historic breakthrough later that year. [edit]

Víctor's career reached a major milestone on December 14, 2025, when he made his official senior debut for Real Madrid. The match was a significant moment for the club's youth system, showcasing Xabi Alonso's willingness to trust academy talent. Following the game, he expressed deep emotion about the achievement, stating he would frame his shirt to look at every day.

His performance caught the attention of European giants early in 2026. Reports emerged that Arsenal was monitoring his progress and considering potential approaches during the winter window. Despite the interest from English clubs, he remained committed to Real Madrid for the remainder of the season, continuing to develop his game in La Liga.

In July 2026, after six seasons with the Spanish capital club, Víctor agreed to a move to Fiorentina. The deal was confirmed as an €8 million transfer, ending his tenure with Real Madrid. Reports indicated that AC Milan had also been interested but missed out on securing his signature. On July 31, 2026, he officially signed for the Italian side, joining a new chapter in his career.

By August 2026, he had begun his tenure with Fiorentina, expected to compete immediately for a starting role in their backline. His adaptation to the Serie A style of play has been closely followed by fans and scouts alike, with early reports suggesting he is already being integrated into the defensive rotation. [edit]

He projects an image of calm professionalism despite his youth. Media coverage often highlights his tactical intelligence and ability to read the game, traits uncommon for a teenager. His social media presence on Instagram reflects a transition from academy hopeful to established professional, marking the end of his six-year chapter at Real Madrid.

Fans view him as a rising star who embodies the modern defender: tall, comfortable on the ball, and capable of playing out from the back. His style is often compared to the technical defenders produced by the Real Madrid academy system. [edit]
