VCT Champions

VCT Champions is the annual world championship tournament that closes out the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) season. Organized by Riot Games, the event brings together 16 elite teams from across the globe to battle for the title of world champion and a share of the $2.25 million prize pool. The tournament is the culmination of a year-long circuit that includes regional International Leagues and Masters events, making it the most prestigious competition in Valorant esports.

First held in 2021, Champions has quickly become a landmark event in the esports calendar. The Valorant Champions Tour was announced in November 2020, with the first Champions event taking place in December 2021 in Berlin, Germany. The tournament featured 16 teams from around the world, including representatives from North America, Europe, Brazil, Latin America, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Acend, a European team, won the inaugural title, defeating Gambit Esports in the grand final.

In 2022, Champions moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where LOUD of Brazil claimed the championship. The 2023 edition was held in Los Angeles, USA, and saw Evil Geniuses take the trophy. The 2024 event, hosted in Seoul, South Korea, was won by EDward Gaming. For 2025, Champions Paris was held at Les Arènes and Accor Arena, with NRG winning undefeated. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Shanghai, China, and will introduce a pathway for Challenger teams to qualify for the first time.

The VCT has evolved significantly since its inception. In 2023, Riot Games restructured the tour into three International Leagues (Americas, Pacific, EMEA) and added a fourth league for China in 2024.
