Van Halen's achievements are staggering. They are one of only five rock bands with two Diamond albums (Van Halen and 1984). They hold the record for most No. 1 hits on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart (13). The band sold 56 million albums in the U.S. and over 80 million worldwide. Their 2007-2008 tour grossed $93 million, the highest for a rock band with original members at the time. Eddie Van Halen received an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music in 2015. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

AwardsVan Halen won two Grammy Awards: Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal for For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1992) and Best Hard Rock Performance for "Right Now" (1992). They also won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction for "Right Now," an American Music Award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Artist (1992), and a People's Choice Award for Favorite New Song for "Jump" (1985).
