University College London

University College London, better known as UCL, is one of the UK's leading public research universities, located in the heart of London. With a student body exceeding 50,000, it ranks as the second-largest university in the country by total enrollment and the largest by postgraduate numbers. UCL's roots go back to 1826, when it was founded as London University, a radical institution inspired by philosopher Jeremy Bentham. It broke new ground by being the first university in England to admit students regardless of their religion and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men, starting in 1878.
