Uberlândia E.C.

Founded on November 1, 1922, Uberlândia Esporte Clube has served as a cornerstone of football in the Triângulo Mineiro region for over a century. The squad plays its home matches at Estádio Parque do Sabiá, where supporters clad in green and white create an intense atmosphere known locally as the Furacão Verde da Mogiana. While the club maintains deep historical roots, it currently competes in Série D, the fourth tier of Brazilian football, alongside its permanent participation in the Campeonato Mineiro state championship.

A significant commercial shift took place on April 2, 2026, when the American ridesharing company Uber secured naming rights to the franchise. This agreement officially rebranded the entity to UberLÂNDIA, merging the global tech giant's identity with the municipality's name to celebrate a centennial coincidence. Despite the new moniker used in marketing and media, the organization retains its legal status as Uberlândia Esporte Clube in many official contexts. [edit]

The club emerged in 1922 and quickly became one of the oldest sporting institutions in Minas Gerais. For decades it developed local talent and fostered regional pride without major national titles until recent years. The team secured the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D crown in 2026, marking a modern pinnacle in its trophy cabinet and solidifying its status as a powerhouse within the lower divisions.

Rivalries within the Campeonato Mineiro remain fierce, drawing large crowds to matches against other state teams. The squad often features a mix of experienced veterans and young prospects, maintaining an average age around 25.8 years. Recent performances include decisive victories like a 5-2 win against Formiga in the quarter-finals of the state tournament. [edit]
