U + Me = <3

Olivia Rodrigo steps away from the guitar-driven pop-punk of her past eras with "U + Me = <3", the fifth track on her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. Released on June 12, 2026, via Geffen Records, this four-minute-and-seven-second single blends contemporary R&B, new wave, and house music into a lush soundscape that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking.

The song marks a sonic pivot characterized by jangle pop textures woven with the rhythmic bounce of new jack swing. Rodrigo co-wrote and produced the track alongside longtime collaborator Dan Nigro, creating a composition that captures the excitement and unpredictability of an adult relationship. Lyrically, the track explores what romantic love looks like in real time, drawing inspiration from her relationship with actor Louis Partridge.

Critical reception highlighted the track's ability to balance genuine affection with mature themes. Rolling Stone praised its genre-blending approach while NPR noted the successful transition into love-centric storytelling. The official music video dropped on YouTube on June 11, 2026, just one day before the album release, further cementing the song's place in her evolving discography. [edit]
