Tyra Banks has been widely recognized for her groundbreaking achievements in modeling and television. She was the first African American woman to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the first Black model to have a Barbie doll made in her likeness. She holds a Guinness World Record for most episodes of a reality competition show hosted by the same person. Time magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2009. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010 and an honorary doctorate from Loyola Marymount University in 2017. Essence and Glamour have honored her with Women Shaping the World and Woman of the Year awards, respectively. Her talk show won two Daytime Emmys, and she has been ranked among the top reality TV hosts and top-earning models by Forbes, VH1, and Billboard.
