Tyler William Warren is an American professional football tight end for the Indianapolis Colts. Born in Mechanicsville, Virginia, he stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and has quickly established himself as a key physical mismatch in the National Football League. His career trajectory shifted from a multi-sport high school standout to a decorated collegiate star at Penn State, where he captured the John Mackey Award in 2024.

Selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Warren entered the league with immediate expectations to anchor the Colts' offense alongside quarterback Daniel Jones. By his second season in 2026, he had become a reliable target known for his blocking versatility and ability to score in critical moments, including a signature touchdown catch against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Tyler William Warren grew up in Mechanicsville, a suburb of Richmond, Virginia, where his athletic foundation was built on both football and basketball. While attending Mechanicsville High School, he demonstrated rare versatility by excelling in dual roles. As a senior, he threw for 1,149 passing yards with 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 677 yards and 10 scores. This dual-threat capability earned him Team MVP honors in both 2017 and 2019, setting the stage for a recruitment that would take him far from home.

Warren committed to Penn State University, joining the Nittany Lions program in 2021. During his four years in State College, he transformed into a complete tight end who could dominate defenders physically while serving as a primary receiving option. His development was marked by consistent improvement each year, culminating in a dominant 2024 campaign that showcased his elite blocking skills and red-zone efficiency. That final collegiate season earned him national attention and the prestigious John Mackey Award, recognizing him as the nation's best tight end before he declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. [edit]

The 2025 NFL Draft marked the beginning of Warren's professional journey when the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the first round. That performance earned him a nomination for NFL Rookie of the Week, signaling his readiness for the highest level of competition.

Entering his second season in 2026, Warren solidified his role as a starter and a primary weapon in the Colts' attack. In Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, he caught three passes for a touchdown despite a loss. The following week, he delivered a standout performance on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. Hauling in six catches, including a one-yard touchdown reception from Daniel Jones that opened the scoring, he proved his clutch ability on a national stage. Despite dealing with a groin injury during training camp in August 2026 that sidelined him for about a week, Warren returned to full health and started both games of the 2026 season, proving his durability and commitment to the team.
