Try Everything

In January 2016, Shakira released "Try Everything" as the lead single from the Zootopia soundtrack. The song became the anthem for Gazelle, the film's pop star mayor, a role Shakira voiced in both English and Spanish. Written by Sia and produced by Stargate, the track carries a message of persistence: "I won't give up, no I won't give in / Till I reach the end and then I'll start again."

Recording took place between 2013 and 2015 at Westlake Recording Studios, with Phil Tan handling the mix. The song hit number one in Lebanon and Japan, and climbed to number 35 on the Mediabase Top 40 in the US. It spent 24 weeks on that chart. The RIAA certified it 4x Platinum, and the BPI gave it Platinum in the UK.

The official music video, posted March 4, 2016, blends scenes from Zootopia with studio footage of Shakira. It has amassed over 804 million views. In 2017, the song earned a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Billboard later ranked it among the best Disney songs of the 21st century. [edit]
