Trevor Slattery

Born in England, Trevor Slattery grew up with a mother who pushed him toward acting, and he showed early promise on stage and screen. His career, however, never quite took off, and he drifted into addiction and petty crime. By the early 2010s, he was a washed-up performer with few prospects.

His big break came when Aldrich Killian, the head of Advanced Idea Mechanics, hired him to play the Mandarin, a fictional terrorist leader. Slattery's theatrical flair made the deception stick, and he became the public face of Killian's plot to destabilize the world. [edit]

Trevor is a flamboyant, self-aggrandizing performer who loves the spotlight and never fully drops the act. He is quick-witted and charming, using humor as a shield. Despite his flaws, he shows genuine kindness and loyalty, especially to his friends. He is also deeply insecure about his fading relevance, which drives him to seek validation through his craft. In Iron Man 3, Trevor is exposed as a fraud and arrested. The one-shot All Hail the King finds him in prison, where he is broken out by the real Ten Rings and brought before Xu Wenwu. His performance saves his life, and he becomes Wenwu's jester. In Shang-Chi, he escapes with Shang-Chi and Xialing, finding purpose in helping them. In Wonder Man, he mentors Simon Williams, but his past catches up when he takes the blame for a disaster, landing in prison again.
