Train to Busan Collection
Overview
A sudden outbreak of a violent virus throws South Korea into chaos just as passengers board an express train bound for Busan. Yeon Sang-ho directs this high-octane thriller that blends action with genuine horror, creating a claustrophobic nightmare on wheels. The film stars Gong Yoo as Seok-woo, a fund manager racing to reach his daughter Soo-ahn, played by Kim Su-an. They join forces with other survivors including the brave truck driver Sang-hwa (Don Lee) and his pregnant wife Sung-gyeong (Jung Yu-mi). Released in July 2016, the movie operated on a modest $8.5 million budget but pulled in over $87 million globally. Its sharp storytelling earned it a strong 7.7 rating from thousands of viewers. This success launched a franchise that expanded the world beyond the tracks.
