    Tony Iommi is universally recognized as one of the most influential guitarists in rock history. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath and into the UK Music Hall of Fame the same year. He has received honorary doctorates from the University of Coventry (2013) and the University of Birmingham (2016). In 2004, Guitar World ranked him the greatest guitarist of all time. He holds a Guinness World Record for the heaviest concert by a band, set by Black Sabbath in 2014. His 2007 star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars honours his contributions to music.
