Toma Ikuta

The Kinokuniya Theater Award for Miso is the one piece of hardware in Ikuta's public record, and it matters because it came from the stage rather than from television. Theater critics in Japan do not hand those out casually. What makes his career unusual is not a trophy case but a statistic: he is one of the very few Johnny's Jr. trainees to build a major acting career without ever debuting in a boy band, which in the context of that agency is a genuine outlier. He has also crossed into Kabuki for a Netflix documentary and into Korean co-production with Confession, two moves that most actors in his position never attempt.
