Fey's ten Primetime Emmy Awards place her among the most decorated performers in television comedy. She is the first woman to serve as head writer on Saturday Night Live and one of the few performers to win Emmys for acting, writing, and producing in the same year (2009). Her Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, awarded at age 40, made her the youngest recipient at the time. Fey has been named to Time's 100 Most Influential People list twice, in 2007 and 2009. Her influence extends beyond performance: she has shaped the careers of countless writers and performers through her production company Little Stranger and her mentorship on SNL and 30 Rock.

AwardsFey has won ten Primetime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (three times) and Outstanding Comedy Series (four times) for 30 Rock. She also won an Emmy for her guest appearance as Sarah Palin on SNL. She has won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, she won three consecutive awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. Fey received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2010, the highest comedy honor from the Kennedy Center.
