Thora Birch

Birch's record rests on a handful of performances that outlived the years they were released in. She was nominated for a BAFTA for American Beauty and a Golden Globe for Ghost World, and she won a Young Artist Award before she turned ten. What sets her apart is durability: Hocus Pocus is still watched every October, Ghost World still finds new teenage viewers, and American Beauty remains part of the late-1990s canon. She has also moved into directing, taking the helm of a Lifetime film in 2024.
