British singer-songwriter Raye stepped away from major labels to release This Music May Contain Hope independently through Human Re Sources on March 27, 2026. The project spans twelve tracks that weave together jazz, big band, soul, blues, and orchestral pop into a cohesive sonic tapestry. Collaborators like Hans Zimmer, Jordan Riley, and Chris Hill helped shape the sound while Raye herself wrote and co-produced every song. Features from Al Green and Raye's sisters, Amma and Absolutely, add depth to an album exploring themes of hope, liberation, and emotional complexity. The record arrived after three singles built momentum. "Where Is My Husband!" topped the UK charts in September 2025, followed by "Nightingale Lane" and "Click Clack Symphony," both hitting the top twenty. A fourth single, "Joy," dropped in September 2026. Critics embraced the shift immediately, praising the vocal performances and genre diversity. The album reached number one in Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Switzerland, plus the top ten elsewhere.
