    On August 8, 2025, Gunna released The Last Wun, his sixth studio album and the final one under YSL Records. The 25-track project runs 68 minutes and 53 seconds, blending melodic trap with Afrobeats. Features include Offset, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Nechie, and Asake. Turbo led production, with contributions from Kenny Stuntin, Evrgrn, Omar Grand, Yung Bleu, and Gunna himself. The singles "Him All Along", "Won't Stop", and "WGFT" with Burna Boy previewed the album's expansive sound.

    The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 80,000 units, marking Gunna's sixth consecutive No. 1 on that chart. It launched 16 tracks onto the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, led by "Just Say Dat" at No. 10. In a Billboard fan poll, The Last Wun won nearly 57% of the vote as the week's favorite new release, beating MGK, Laufey, and Jonas Brothers.

    Recorded between 2024 and 2025, the album arrives amid ongoing tension between Gunna and Young Thug following the YSL RICO case. Gunna took an Alford plea and was released in December 2022; Young Thug remained incarcerated until late 2024. The track "Prototype" contains lyrics interpreted as a response to Young Thug's since-deleted diss tweet. Gunna described the creative process to Uproxx: "It'll come to me just through life and just living... it's no theme."
