The Kingdoms of Ruin is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by yoruhashi. It plunges into a dark fantasy world where witches once lived alongside humans. This era ended with a devastating war, initiated by humans, which led to the eradication of all witches. The story centers on Adonis, a young man who was raised by a witch named Chloe. Fueled by a profound desire for revenge against the human empire responsible for the destruction of his people, Adonis embarks on a dangerous quest. His mission is to dismantle the empire and avenge Chloe and all the other witches who were lost.

The narrative skillfully explores complex themes such as revenge, the corrupting nature of power, the brutal conflict between humanity and magic users, and the lasting consequences of deep-seated hatred. These elements combine to create an intense and thought-provoking reading experience, characteristic of the dark fantasy genre.

Originally serialized in Japan by Mag Garden in their digital magazine Comic Garden starting in November 2019, the manga quickly gained attention. Its popularity led to an English edition published by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the first volume released on October 12, 2021. The series' success also paved the way for an anime television adaptation, produced by Yokohama Animation Lab, which premiered in October 2023, further expanding its reach to a global audience.[edit]
