Though the Jimi Hendrix Experience never won a Grammy or a Billboard Music Award during their brief run, their influence is reflected in the many posthumous honors earned by Jimi Hendrix. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992, and the band's three studio albums have all been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, a rare feat for a group with such a small catalog. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Hendrix as a solo artist in 1992, and the UK Music Hall of Fame followed in 2005. In 2013, the Library of Congress added Are You Experienced to the National Recording Registry, recognizing its cultural significance. These honors, while not awarded directly to the group, underscore the enduring power of the music they created.
