The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne

Tanba's light novel series follows an SS-rank prince who feigns incompetence and disinterest while secretly pulling the strings in a succession war for the throne. The story began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, running from February 1, 2019, to February 20, 2024, before Kadokawa Shoten picked it up for print. Sixteen volumes have been released under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint since September 1, 2019, with illustrations by Yuunagi.

A manga adaptation by Yukino Amagai started serialization in Young Ace Up on December 25, 2019, and as of February 2025, nine collected volumes are available. Yen Press handles the English release for both the light novel and manga. An anime television series by Maho Film is scheduled for July 2026.[edit]
