Records
The Funk Brothers' recognition came late but richly. In 2004, NARAS honored the 13 core members with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a rare tribute to a session band. The 2002 documentary soundtrack earned a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album. They also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007. Their story has become a touchstone for the unsung heroes of popular music.
