About This Album
J. Cole's seventh studio album, The Fall-Off, arrived on February 6, 2026, through Cole World, Dreamville, and Interscope. Marketed as his final album, it had been in development since 2016 and first teased in 2018. An event around 2024, widely read as the Drake–Kendrick Lamar feud, pushed Cole to expand the concept into a double album. The narrative follows two visits to his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, first at age twenty-nine, then at thirty-nine, exploring memory, growth, and mortality.
Sonically, the album blends introspective rapping with soulful, sample-heavy production, touching on legacy, family, and the weight of fame across 24 tracks. Cole executive produced alongside Ibrahim Hamad, T-Minus, and the Dreamville team, with contributions from the Alchemist, Beat Butcha, Boi-1da, FnZ, Omen, and Vinylz. Guest features include Burna Boy, Erykah Badu, Future, Morray, Petey Pablo, PJ, and Tems. Lead single Who TF Iz U dropped on February 11, followed by Legacy on May 19. Promotional single The Fall-Off Is Inevitable hit YouTube on January 14, and Two Six got a music video at release.
In its first week, the album moved 280,000 equivalent units in the US, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. Metacritic scored it as generally positive. The vinyl release accounted for about 80,000 copies of first-week pure sales, Cole's biggest vinyl sales week ever. The double LP was pressed on red and blue variants priced at $59.99.
