Published between 1993 and 1994, The Children's Crusade stands as a unique seven-issue event within the DC Comics universe. This limited series served as the first major crossover attempt for the fledgling Vertigo imprint, weaving together stories from its diverse lineup of titles. The narrative arc opened and closed with two bookend issues written by Neil Gaiman and Alisa Kwitney, while the five central installments featured annuals from existing series like Arcana, which relaunched Books of Magic. Other contributors included Dick Foreman, Jamie Delano, Nancy Collins, Rachel Pollack, and John Ney Rieber.
