Kōji Seo's The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, known in Japanese as Megami no Kafe Terasu, invites readers into a charming, if slightly chaotic, world. The story kicks off when Hayato, a young man facing a crossroads in life, inherits a seaside café from his grandmother. He soon discovers that the establishment comes with an unexpected, and rather crowded, staff: five young women who claim to be goddesses sent to help him. What follows is a blend of slice-of-life humor, romantic comedy, and a touch of the fantastical as Hayato navigates running the café and dealing with his divine, and often quirky, helpers.

First serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine starting in February 2021, the manga series concluded its main run in November 2025, with a total of 22 collected volumes. The appeal of the series was strong enough to warrant an anime adaptation, with the first season animated by Tezuka Productions airing in the spring of 2023. A second season followed, broadcasting from July to September 2024, bringing Seo's unique blend of everyday struggles and supernatural encounters to a wider audience.

The series has become a notable entry in Seo's bibliography, following his earlier works like Suzuka and Fuuka. Its sustained presence in a major weekly magazine for nearly five years speaks to its popularity, and fan engagement remains active, with discussions on platforms like Reddit and YouTube. A special edition of the tenth volume, celebrating character Akane Hououji's win in a popularity poll, included a bonus pamphlet titled "Akanebon" with illustrations and extra comics.
