The Brave and the Bold

First appearing in 1955, The Brave and the Bold started as an anthology series from DC Comics, featuring a variety of heroes. However, a significant shift occurred in 1965 with issue #74, transforming the book into a dedicated team-up title. From that point on, the series primarily focused on pairing Batman with different characters from the expansive DC Universe. This format proved popular, allowing for diverse storytelling and the exploration of character dynamics.

The original run of The Brave and the Bold concluded in 1983, but its enduring appeal led to multiple revivals. A reprint miniseries arrived in 1988, followed by original miniseries in 1991 and 1999. DC Comics continued to revisit the concept, launching the title as an ongoing anthology in 2007 and again in 2023. Each iteration has brought new creative teams to the forefront, offering fresh takes on the classic hero-pairing formula.
