Red, Chuck, Bomb, and the rest of Bird Island are back for a third animated adventure. The film picks up years after the truce between birds and pigs, with Red enjoying a quieter life as a reluctant local hero. Chuck runs a high-speed delivery service connecting both communities, while Bomb has channeled his explosive talent into competitive baking. But their peaceful existence is shattered when a mysterious species called the Mighty Eagles arrives, led by the charismatic Zeta (Emma Myers). Claiming to be refugees, the eagles quickly disrupt the island's fragile harmony.

Silver, now the island's chief engineer, grows suspicious when advanced technology starts appearing that neither birds nor pigs created. Young eagle Mighty Dale (Walker Scobell) befriends Red and reveals a hidden agenda. Meanwhile, Chuck discovers the eagles' tech is linked to a powerful energy source buried beneath Bird Island—a dormant superweapon from an ancient civilization. King Pig (Bill Hader), still scheming despite his reformed image, has his own designs on the energy source, creating a three-way power struggle.

This installment marks the directorial debut of John Rice, who previously storyboarded The Angry Birds Movie 2. It is also the first film in the franchise produced under SEGA's ownership, following their 2023 acquisition of Rovio. The animation is handled by DNEG, the Oscar-winning studio behind Dune and Interstellar, marking a shift from Sony Pictures Imageworks. The voice cast adds fresh talent including Lily James as wise elder eagle Ella and Marcello Hernández as tech-savvy pig Spark.[edit]

Several years after the events of the second film, the birds and pigs of Bird Island have settled into an uneasy but functional peace. Red has stepped back from heroics, spending his days managing a small seaside café and occasionally signing autographs. Chuck runs a booming express delivery service that shuttles packages between bird and pig territories, while Bomb has found unexpected success as a competitive baker, creating pastries that literally explode with flavor. Silver works as the island's chief engineer, designing gadgets to improve daily life.

The peace is disrupted when a fleet of golden airships appears on the horizon, carrying a group of creatures calling themselves the Mighty Eagles. Their leader, Zeta, claims they are refugees fleeing a catastrophic disaster in their homeland. The eagles are larger and more technologically advanced than the birds, and they quickly set up a settlement on the island's highest peak. King Pig, always opportunistic, sees the newcomers as a chance to gain an edge and secretly offers them resources in exchange for technology.

Red is initially content to let others handle the situation, but he is drawn in when Mighty Dale, a young and enthusiastic eagle, seeks him out. Dale confides that the eagles have a hidden purpose they have not disclosed. Meanwhile, Silver discovers strange energy readings emanating from deep beneath the island. Investigating, she finds ancient ruins that predate both bird and pig civilizations, containing a power source she calls the Heart of the Sky. Chuck's delivery routes take him across the island, and he notices the eagles are mapping the terrain with suspicious precision.

As tensions rise, a new environment is introduced: the Sky Realm, a chain of floating islands accessible only by special airships. The eagles claim this is their ancestral home, but Silver's scans reveal the Heart of the Sky is the key to keeping these islands aloft. King Pig, having struck a deal with Zeta, provides the eagles with access to the island's underground caverns in exchange for a share of the Heart's power. Bomb, now a local celebrity, uses his baking competitions as cover to gather intelligence from both birds and pigs.

The story takes the characters across these new locales, from the glittering Sky Realm to the dark, crystal-lined caverns beneath Bird Island. Red assembles an unlikely team: Chuck, Bomb, Silver, Mighty Dale, and even Spark, a pig engineer who defects after learning King Pig's true intentions. They race to understand the eagles' technology and the Heart's capabilities before the situation escalates. The first two acts build toward a revelation that the Mighty Eagles are not refugees but scouts for a much larger force, and the Heart of the Sky is actually a dormant superweapon that could either shield the island or destroy it.[edit]
