The Acolyte

Set a century before the rise of the Empire, The Acolyte transports viewers to a golden age where the Jedi Order and the Republic enjoy unprecedented peace. Created by Leslye Headland for Disney+, this eight-episode mystery series premiered on June 4, 2024, and concluded its single season on July 16. The show stars Amandla Stenberg as twin sisters Mae-ho and Osha Aniseya, alongside Lee Jung-jae as the wise Master Sol. While the premise promises a high-stakes investigation into a shocking crime spree, the reception has been mixed. Critics and audiences alike found the execution lacking compared to the rich lore it attempts to explore, resulting in a low rating of 5.3 out of 10 and an eventual cancellation after just one season.[edit]
