Tesla's Cybercab is a two-passenger battery-electric vehicle engineered for full autonomy. It's built to operate without a steering wheel or pedals, serving as the cornerstone of the company's planned Robotaxi service. The Cybercab represents Tesla's bet on a driverless future, where passengers simply summon a ride and are transported to their destination without human intervention.

A concept version debuted in October 2024, when 20 prototypes gave short demonstration rides at a flashy unveiling event. The prototypes were stripped of traditional controls, showcasing a minimalist interior with just seats and a central touchscreen. Production began quietly in February 2026, though initial output was limited to hundreds per week at Gigafactory Texas. The Cybercab's development has been marked by regulatory hurdles and safety debates, but Tesla positions it as a cheaper, safer alternative to conventional ride-hailing. The vehicle uses a 48 kWh battery, with range estimates varying from at least 200 miles to preliminary EPA figures as high as 418 miles. Tesla's long-term production goal is 2 million Cybercabs annually, but current output is a fraction of that.
