Overview
Terror in Resonance arrived on Fuji TV in the summer of 2014 as a tense blend of animation, crime drama, and psychological mystery. Created by Shinichiro Watanabe, this single-season series follows two boys known only as Nine and Twelve as they execute a terrifying plan against a city reeling from a past tragedy. The show features voice performances by Soma Saito and Kaito Ishikawa in the lead roles, supported by Atsumi Tanezaki and Shunsuke Sakuya. With its dark tone and moral complexity, the series challenged viewers to question the nature of justice while gripping them with high-stakes cat-and-mouse games between the perpetrators and the police. The eleven-episode run spanned just over two months, ending in late September with a rating that reflected its cult following among anime fans. Unlike typical action shows, this narrative leans heavily into emotional weight and social commentary. It avoids easy answers, instead presenting a world where the line between hero and villain blurs significantly. Critics and audiences alike noted the sharp writing and distinct visual style, making it a standout entry in the genre for that year.
