Tems has achieved remarkable milestones in a short time. She is the first Nigerian artist to win multiple Grammy Awards, a feat she accomplished with her 2023 and 2026 wins. Her song "Essence" became the first Nigerian track to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. She also made history as the first African woman to become a part-owner of a Major League Soccer team, joining San Diego FC's ownership group in 2025. Her debut album Born in the Wild earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album, and her collaboration with Dave, "Raindance," gave her a UK number one single in 2026.
