Tanju Çolak's career is defined by extraordinary goal-scoring feats. His 39-goal season in 1987–88 remains the Süper Lig single-season record, a testament to his remarkable consistency and finishing ability. That same year, he won the European Golden Shoe, becoming the first Turkish player to achieve this honour. His 116 goals in 124 appearances for Galatasaray place him among the club's all-time greats, and his three top-scorer titles and three league championships with the club solidify his legendary status. He is rightly celebrated as one of Turkey's greatest forwards.
