On 31 October 2025, Aitana dropped "Superestrella" as the fourth and final single from her fourth studio album Cuarto Azul. Produced by Nicolás Cotton and co-written by Aitana, Carolina Isabel Colón, and Cotton, the track is a driving pop anthem with a stadium-ready beat. Its lyrics champion self-love and liberation, themes that run through the entire album.

The song debuted at number 22 on Promusicae's Top 100 Canciones chart before climbing to number 2. Its momentum exploded when the Spain national football team adopted it as an unofficial anthem during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Played in stadiums and at public viewing events, the chorus became a fan chant, pushing streaming numbers higher and embedding the song in Spanish pop culture.

Critics praised its anthemic quality. Jenesaispop called it "a perfect closing track for the album, encapsulating its themes of self-love and liberation."
