Super Freaky Girl

Nicki Minaj launched the Pink Friday 2 campaign with "Super Freaky Girl" on August 12, 2022, via Young Money Entertainment and Republic Records. The track samples Rick James's 1981 hit "Super Freak," written by James and Alonzo Miller, and also interpolates the bassline from MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This." Produced by Dr. Luke, Aaron Joseph, and Vaughn Oliver, the song is a pop rap number built on a bouncy, Miami bass-inspired beat. Minaj delivers rapid-fire, sexually explicit verses that blend braggadocio with playful references to her career milestones.

Upon release, the song broke the Spotify record for the biggest debut by a solo female rap song. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Minaj's first solo chart-topper and her third overall after "Trollz" with 6ix9ine and "Say So" with Doja Cat. Internationally, it reached number one in Australia and New Zealand, her first chart-toppers in both countries, and peaked within the top five in Canada, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Philippines, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. On the Billboard Global 200, it reached number three.

Two official remixes were released: the "Roman Remix" on August 18, 2022, featuring Minaj's alter ego Roman Zolanski, and the "Queen Mix" on September 9, 2022, which brought together female rappers JT, BIA, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V, and Maliibu Miitch. Both remixes appeared on reissues of Minaj's greatest hits compilation Queen Radio: Volume 1. The song also won Best Hip-Hop at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards and Best Song at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards, and was nominated for Best Rap Song at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.[edit]
