Sumire Uesaka's career is marked by a series of historic firsts and genre-spanning achievements. She was the first Japanese person to appear in a Vidal Sassoon commercial, a feat that launched her career. In 2016, she won the Best Rookie Actress award at the 10th Seiyu Awards, the most prestigious recognition for voice actors in Japan. Her role as Tohru in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid became a worldwide hit, introducing her to international audiences.
