Strange Muse

On October 19, 2026, NMIXX dropped their sixth extended play titled Strange Muse, a six-track project that dives deep into the concept of finding inspiration in unexpected places. Distributed by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, the EP blends the group's signature mix-pop sound with moments of quiet reflection. The lead single "Birthday Wish" sets the tone immediately, pairing an anthemic pop structure with lyrics about the messy reality of growing up.

The release stands out for its unique structural choice to feature three unit songs alongside the main tracks. Lily and Haewon team up on "Sing to the Moon," while Sullyoon and Bae take the spotlight on "Hot 'n Unbothered." Jiwoo and Kyujin close the unit section with "WHIP," allowing different vocal colors to shine within the cohesive album narrative. This approach highlights the interpersonal chemistry between members rather than just focusing on the group as a whole.

Critics noted how the album balances high-energy dance numbers with emotional depth, creating a listening experience that feels both celebratory and introspective. Reviews from outlets like The Korea Times praised the way the group navigates themes of self-discovery without losing their energetic edge. Physical copies of the LP Ver. and Strange Ver. sold out quickly after pre-orders opened, signaling strong demand from fans eager to own a piece of this new chapter. [edit]
