Steven Yeun has been recognized as a trailblazer for Asian American representation in Hollywood. In 2021, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He made history as the first East Asian-American actor to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, for his role in Minari. The Carnegie Corporation honored him as a Great Immigrant in 2024. His Emmy wins for Beef solidified his status as a producer and leading man who can command both critical and audience attention.

AwardsYeun won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Beef in 2024: Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Limited Series (as producer). He also won a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for the same role. In 2018, he won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor for Burning.
