    About

Founded on August 16, 1950, Stade Brestois 29 emerged from the merger of five local clubs including Armoricaine de Brest and Sporting Club de Brest. This union transformed a fragmented regional presence into a unified professional entity that would eventually challenge France's elite. The club secured its first promotion to Division 1 in 1979, launching a significant era under president François Yvinec that kept them in the top flight for nearly a decade.

The team plays its home matches at the Stade Francis-Le Blé, a venue with a capacity of 15,220 spectators that has served as their spiritual home since 1985. Recent years have seen Brest establish itself as a consistent competitor capable of qualifying for European tournaments. Their rise features a modernized squad with an average age of 25.4 and a diverse mix of talent that includes eight foreign players representing roughly 34.8% of the roster.

    History

The club spent decades climbing the regional ladders before finally breaking into the top tier in 1979. This milestone marked the start of a period where the team built a reputation for resilience rather than long-term dominance. They won the Ligue 2 championship at one point to propel themselves back to the top flight after relegation.

In recent years the team has become a fixture in European qualification spots. Jean-Marc Furlan took over management duties following predecessors like Olivier Dall'Oglio and Michel Der Zakarian to modernize the playing style. The squad now boasts national team players who reflect the high standing of the club in French football.

Supporters known as Ty-Zefs bring intense energy to matches at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. The term comes from the Breton language referring to the region's traditional wind. Fans maintain a strong digital presence with over 400,000 followers on Instagram and active engagement across X and Facebook.
