GNK Dinamo Zagreb

GNK Dinamo Zagreb, commonly known as Dinamo Zagreb, is the dominant force in Croatian football. Based in the capital city, the club has won 36 domestic league titles in total, with 26 of those coming in the Croatian league since 1992, plus 18 Croatian Cups and 8 Croatian Super Cups. Their most prized achievement is the 1966–67 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, a major European trophy that remains the only one ever won by a Croatian club. They have spent their entire existence in top-flight football, first in the Yugoslav First League from 1946 to 1991, then in the Croatian Football League (HNL) from 1992 onward.

The club's roots trace back to 1911, with predecessor clubs, but it was officially established in its current form on June 9, 1945, as Dinamo. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes: HAŠK Građanski (1991–1993) and Croatia Zagreb (1994–2000), before returning to the Dinamo name. Under the Croatia Zagreb label, they reached the UEFA Champions League group stage in 1998–99 and 1999–2000. Their traditional colors are royal blue, though they've worn darker navy for European matches in recent years.

Dinamo's fiercest rivalry is with Hajduk Split, a clash known as the Eternal Derby (Vječni derbi). Their youth academy is widely regarded as one of the best in Europe, producing a steady stream of talent that feeds the first team and generates significant transfer revenue. The club underwent a controversial name change to Croatia Zagreb in 1994, under which they won multiple league titles and reached the Champions League group stage twice. In 2000, the club reverted to the Dinamo name, and since then, they have dominated the HNL, winning 19 more league titles. The 2010s and 2020s saw a period of frequent coaching changes, with a rapid succession of managers, but the club maintained its domestic supremacy.

In recent seasons, Dinamo has been a regular participant in European competitions, often reaching the group stages of the Champions League or Europa League. Their player development model has been central to their success, with the academy producing talents who are sold to top European leagues for substantial fees.
