    About

Ferencvárosi Torna Club, universally known as Ferencváros or affectionately as Fradi, is Hungary's most successful and popular professional football club. Founded on November 12, 1899, in the Ferencváros district of Budapest, the club has established itself as a multi-sport institution with its football department serving as the crown jewel. The team competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I (NB I), the top tier of Hungarian football, playing their home matches at the Groupama Arena, which holds approximately 22,000 to 23,700 spectators.

As the record holder for domestic honors, Ferencváros has won the Nemzeti Bajnokság I title 36 times and the Magyar Kupa (Hungarian Cup) 24 times. They also hold the record for the most Szuperkupa (Super Cup) victories with six wins. Their status as the most successful Hungarian club is underscored by their unique international pedigree. The club's historic high point remains the 1964–65 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup victory, where they defeated Juventus in the final. They reached the final of this competition again in 1968 and the European Cup Winners' Cup final in 1975.

    History

The club was established in 1899 within the ninth district of Budapest, quickly becoming a dominant force in Hungarian football. Throughout the 20th century, Ferencváros consistently challenged for domestic titles, amassing an unparalleled collection of league championships and cup victories. Their most notable international triumph remains the 1965 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup title. The club continued to participate in European competitions regularly, reaching finals in both the Fairs Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup.

In recent years, the club has maintained its status as a top contender in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, securing further league titles and participating in the UEFA Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds. The release of their 2026-27 third kit continues the club's tradition of engaging with its supporters through modern branding. The club is also known for its passionate rivalry with other Budapest-based teams, most notably Budapest Honvéd FC.

On the player front, transfers like that of defender Griffin Garnett in February 2026 indicate ongoing squad development. The club also nurtures young talent through its U19 team, which has a detailed squad overview available for the 2026-27 season.
