FC Rottach-Egern

FC Rottach-Egern is an amateur association football club located in the Bavarian town of Rottach-Egern. The organization traces its roots to June 1946 when a football department formed within the local multi-sport club TSV Rottach-Egern under Albert "Didi" Distler. The club officially separated as an independent entity on February 20, 1947.

The team currently plays in the Kreisklasse Zugspitze Group 2, which represents the eighth tier of the German football league system. They compete at Stadion am Birkenmoos, a venue that holds up to 2,500 spectators. While the squad consists primarily of local talent, the club has secured promotion to the Bezirksliga four times throughout its history, specifically in 1969, between 1978 and 1981, from 1995 to 2000, and most recently in 2002. Albert "Didi" Distler led the initial efforts to establish a football department within TSV Rottach-Egern in June 1946. This foundation allowed the club to grow into an independent organization by early 1947. Over the decades, the team navigated the lower tiers of German football, achieving significant milestones by reaching the Bezirksliga level four separate times.

The club's competitive record includes consistent mid-table finishes in recent years. FC Rottach-Egern placed sixth in the Kreisklasse Zugspitze Group 2 during both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. These results reflect the stability of the squad despite operating without professional resources. [edit]
