AIK Fotboll

Allmänna Idrottsklubben traces its origins to 1891 in Stockholm, though the football department did not launch until 1896. The club has maintained a continuous presence in Allsvenskan since the league's inception in 1924, holding the record for the most seasons played in the top flight. They currently sit third on the all-time table with twelve national titles, the most recent coming in 2018.

Home matches take place at Strawberry Arena in Solna, a venue that hosted Sweden's highest average attendance of 30,024 spectators during the 2025 season. This figure cemented their status as the country's most supported team across 41 consecutive seasons. The fan base maintains intense rivalries with Djurgårdens IF and Hammarby IF, creating one of the most volatile atmospheres in Nordic football. [edit]

The club entered the Swedish top tier in 1924 and has never been relegated since, surpassing every other side in longevity. Their domestic dominance includes twelve championship wins, with a significant gap between their 2009 title and the 2018 victory. European campaigns have seen them reach the quarter-finals of the 1996–97 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and qualify for group stages in both the Champions League and Europa League.

Leadership changes marked the early 2026 period following the dismissal of Mikkjal Thomassen in January. Bartosz Grzelak and Henning Berg took over during this transition. Recent squad developments include the signing of Chilean midfielder Lucas Assadi in August 2026 and the emergence of winger Zadok Yohanna, who attracted transfer interest from Newcastle United by June 2026.
