Spider

Spider is a human teenager born on Pandora, the son of Miles Quaritch, the former RDA colonel killed during the first conflict. He was raised by the Na'vi of the Omaticaya clan after being left behind by the RDA. He grew up among the Na'vi, learning their ways and language, and formed a close bond with the Sully family, especially Kiri and Tuk. Unlike his father, Spider embraces the Na'vi culture and views Pandora as his home.[edit]

Spider is resourceful, brave, and fiercely loyal to those he considers family. He has a rebellious streak and a strong sense of justice, often putting himself in danger to protect others. Despite his human origins, he identifies deeply with the Na'vi and struggles with the legacy of his father's violence. He is quick-witted and adaptable, using his knowledge of both human technology and Na'vi ways to navigate conflicts.[edit]

In Avatar: The Way of Water, Spider is captured by the RDA and used as leverage to locate Jake Sully. He forms an uneasy bond with his father's recombinanted avatar, Quaritch, who tries to win him over. Spider ultimately rejects Quaritch's worldview and helps the Sully family escape, even saving Quaritch's life at the end. In Avatar: Fire and Ash, Spider's loyalties are further tested as he grapples with his dual heritage and the ongoing war between humans and Na'vi.[edit]

Spider has been a polarizing character among fans. Some appreciate his role as a bridge between human and Na'vi cultures, while others find his loyalty shifts unconvincing. Jack Champion's performance has been praised for bringing depth to the conflicted teenager. The character is expected to have a larger role in Fire and Ash, which may further develop his story.[edit]
