Lifetimes

Katy Perry traded her signature pop anthems for the pulsating rhythms of Italo house on Lifetimes, a track that serves as the second single from her seventh studio album, 143. Released on August 8, 2024, through Capitol Records, the song marks a distinct stylistic pivot toward retro European club sounds while maintaining a deeply personal core. The lyrics center on an eternal devotion to her daughter, with the chorus declaring, "I'll love you for life / Lifetimes," turning a simple phrase into a musical vow.

The production team assembled a robust group of collaborators including Dr. Luke, Sarah Hudson, Rocco Did It Again!, Ryan Ogren, and members of R. City alongside LunchMoney Lewis. This collective crafted a driving beat that balances high-energy dance floor appeal with the intimate weight of maternal love. While the album 143 arrived later in September using telephone keypad numbers to spell out "I love you," this single stood alone initially as a vibrant introduction to the era's sonic landscape.
