Hooligan

BTS unleashed Hooligan on April 7, 2026, serving as the second single from their tenth studio album Arirang. The track arrives via BigHit Music and marks a distinct sonic shift for the group by blending their signature pop style with experimental electronic textures. Production duties were split among El Guincho, Fakeguido, Jasper Harris, and Ghstloop, who crafted a soundscape that feels both raw and polished while maintaining the vocal harmonics fans expect.

A key compositional element involves a sample from Michel Magne's 1963 instrumental "Yang Tse-Kiang." This retro bridge integrates seamlessly into the modern arrangement without disrupting the song's chaotic energy. Lyrics like "We pop out, we actin' a fool again" playfully embrace the rowdy connotations of the title while subverting them into a celebration of artistic freedom. [edit]
